I am Marcus, a 24-year-old with a diploma in Mechanical Engineering from Singapore Polytechnic, where I graduated with a GPA of 3.758. My passions and pastimes encompass staying informed on current affairs, maintaining my fitness through regular gym visits, and honing my culinary skills. As of May 2023, I am offered admission into NUS (Mechanical Engineering), NTU (Sports Science and Management), and SMU (Economics), and am deciding between these choices.

While pursuing my studies in Polytechnic, I had the honour of representing my institution at the national level in WorldSkills Singapore 2018. Despite undergoing treatment for retinal detachment on my right eye, I persevered and secured a satisfactory third-place finish.

Following my National Service, I gained valuable experience as a Personal Banker for CIMB before transitioning to a Civil Project Engineer role. Eager to expand my skillset, I participated in programming courses facilitated by Google. Additionally, I am a business owner, officially incorporating my education business on ACRA in 2020, and am expanding (as of May 2023) into a larger space. I have also recently authored a book, 'Health Unbound,' which has been published on Amazon.

Since its inception in 2017, my tutoring business has striven to offer outstanding Mathematics and Science education to both primary and secondary school students. It was initially a humble endeavor, founded in collaboration with a close associate and my mother, who was already in the tuition space before the turn of the century. Our dedication and commitment to enriching the lives of our students have brought us significant growth, requiring us to upgrade our premises multiple times over the years.

I am proud to announce that today, my business is embarking on another transformative journey - a move to a larger facility to accommodate expansion.

As we broaden our scope and impact, we are keen on enhancing our team with passionate and qualified educators. Simultaneously, we are eager to connect with potential investors who share our vision of fostering an enriching and engaging learning environment for our students.

I am thrilled to announce that I have teamed up with a couple of close friends to partner with an overseas tailoring workshop to launch our own Made-To-Measure garments by the end of 2023. As of August 2023, we are putting the finishing touches on our first batch of products, featuring lightweight cotton fabrics, perfect for Singapore's climate. We will be offering a range of classic garments, from safari jackets to gurkha shorts, that combine style and comfort.

Our goal is to provide high-quality hand-finished garments at affordable prices, and also to import high-end Italian fabrics with a focus on casual fabrics such as linen from Solbiati’s Art Du Lin range in the near future when the business is proven to be profitable.
